Pond Bank Mowing Made EASY - Grasshopper Mowers
Dang dude, that’s a ton of work! But it will be worth it for sure!!!
No doubt! I can't wait. We had a snag and it's actually being poured tomorrow.
@@IndyFarmLife awesome
Thats going to be like a new space on e you get concrete.
For sure will be! I'm pumped! Might need to get myself a laser for out there...😏
Having to do all of that alone? Very familiar to me! With all of your fans on the channel there should be someone with free time to help you out. Working in a small space is where the skid steer really makes your life easier! I found that when you deal with burrowing animals in a barn flooding with water is your friend!
A skid steer would have definitely worked well! Never thought of flooding it! Leaves a bit of stink in the aera though if you can't get to them! Ha
@Indy Farm Life. Man im glad i ran across your channel. Your the 3rd one in Indiana that im subscribed to. Your barns going to look nice when it's done. Awesome video keep them coming (Tony)
I'm glad you are enjoying it! Quite a few of us in Indiana! Who are the 3? Me, Spicer Designs, and Kleemen or Dig Drive DIY? Just my guess!
Use good quality anti-seize on the spindles where the drive pulleys go on so they don't seize on the shaft for the next time you have to service them.
I have the 9010T, when I went to buy it none of the dealers near me had a T they only had the stupid H model. I had to order a T model. According to a landscaper friend of mine the H models are more durable when you give them to a bunch of animals that can manage to break a rock. Apparently they manage to break the throttle cables and the triggers on the T models all the time. I’ve had mine for a few years and I haven’t managed to break it yet.
When mowing tall brush/grass, watch your tractor temperature as the front grapple/bucket will throw a lot of chaff/seeds into tractor radiator causing tractor to overheat. Need to clean the mesh occasionally
I remember when those things first come out they was one of the cheaper mowers out. Now many years later they're one of the more expensive ones out there and they ain't changed nothing hardly. Still the boxy old metal things they've always been.
it's cheaper to just replace bearing .
@Indy Farm Life all that lumber what are you building. Awesome video
Actually just moving it out of my barn so I can out concrete in there. Still haven't figured out what I'm doing with all of it!
I would probably suggest not doing that next to that electrical transformer 😂
@Indy Farm life. Very cool and very clean job. Thanks for the idea. Awesome video keep them coming
Thanks! It has worked really well thus far!
@Indy farm life. Just subscribed to your channel really injoy your live. Im in Southern Indiana I'll support you channel awesome video keep them coming whens the next live
Why not have the person who put in the pipe come back out and put it in correctly?
Do you think in would hold a small cabin say 10 by 14?
After watching many reviews, I had the same thoughts. Even the top brands are made in China. And the top brands are pushing battery power.
great vid. would have liked to know tractor HP or PTO HP & brush hog size, 48, or 60" . im thinkin it was a 60" on a 60-70 HP unit. THX
You will be surprised. JD4052R. 52hp at the flywheel on a Woods 84" cutter.
Nice toys
Does the blue dye turn green when the dye wears off
Lwlqkqqkqkkq😂 Owowlqoq🎉jwkq ok😢ok😮#####$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$😅
I have a question. I did a lot of prep made my whole driveway out of clay/chert material with 3% slope on each side of the crown and drainage ditches. When I lay the initial big rock layer down, should I try to keep the crown? I find it difficult to grade those big rocks.
I gave it a like just because of the music
Thanks! Classic rock is my go to!!
Looks great, but I’m not sold on the trecks??? They really get hot, you can’t stand on them?
🇺🇸👍👍👍👍👍👍👍🙋♂️🙋♂️🙋♂️
Lift with your legs, save your back.
Seems like something they would do in China
The H is for left-handed people
Great video and beautiful pond! How much would you say it cost monthly to maintain a one acre pond? We are looking at a property with one! Thank you!
Garbage don't buy
Thanks much for the knowledge!!! There’s no reason to try and reinvent the wheel. My plan is to use wood planks around the outside instead of drywall. I haven’t quite decided what I’m going to use in the middle yet. Thanks again!
I like zero-turns, but I *LOVE* my 428D!!!! Once you have a Grasshopper...there's no going back; no living without one. Bought mine about 6 years ago with over 2000 hours on it, and I use it every week to mow off 6-7 acres on my place- it has about 2800 hours on it now. I just LOVE mowing with it!
I have a KM130R. It starts in 1-2 pulls (mostly 1 pull). That alone turned me off of 2 stroke trimmers. That, and the fact that it pulls like a diesel engine when you get into the thick grass.
Might be time to see if you can sell/trade that hoe for a dozer. I might suggest a skid loader for more long term uses. 😊
Meh! Dozer would be limited use! Awesome to have for this very project but for what I need, the backhoe/tractor combo is hard to beat. I often move a lot of material with my dump wagon. Backhoe has a 2 yard bucket. Just need to fix the transmission! You want to come take a swing at it? Ha
Hi, Great video, can I ask you why it seems that you only draw the fill in one direction? Is there a method to this, or was it just for camera angles?
Our driveway is 2700 ft @ 7' wide...it is a nightmare when we get rain and the snow removal all winter (JD 60" Blower) , plays havoc with the top substrate...any suggestions
Why not do 24 inch centers and save lumber?
The thing I always tell people if you want to push dirt get a dozer or skid steer. If you want to pull something you need a tractor. If you want both get an old crawler loader.
Definitely agree with that thought process! I just don't currently have access to a dozer anymore 😕
Dang, thats a lot of material. Better get all that dialed in before we get there or we’re leaving.
Haha you make a guy want to leave a few piles laying around...🤣
Shit, I need a mini ex with a flail for mine. Which I don’t have.😊
i’ve had mine since 2019 just had a problem with the carb this year, it’s fixable but i went ahead and got a new one, 5 years not to bad for 180
I did a similar set up for oil stem pipe gate posts, the hinges are welded to two collars that have a bolt running behind the posts, making them adjustable after setting the gate… great job on this 👍
Did you add water to your barrels
No I didn't. Our dock weighs enough that it keeps them decently submerged.
How long did it take to get that blue off your hand 😅
Still there...may audition for the next Avatar movie! 🤣
Thinking about using the HF tarps for my beach too. How have they held up over the year?
Do it! They have been awesome. I have one air bubble that got trapped under one in the water and it's still there! They are pretty tough!
I have a similar product. In 5 years so far have had no issues. No need for those downspout traps, though. I removed mine before installing these. Peeked under them last year, nothing in the gutters except a bit of grit from the shingles. This year I'll probably pop open one every 10ft or so and blast some water along the length towards the downspouts, just to wash the shingle-grit out. No biggie.
How should I introduce my diffuser system in my pond? I have shiners and minnows stocked 1 acre pond dug 1yr ago. Getting stocked next Wednesday. How do I acclimate my current bait fish to all the gases and get this done before my fish get here Wednesday. I’m in southeast Texas thanks! I’ve heard 30 minutes day one then hour day two and so on?
imagine introducing grass carp, a super invasive spoecies thatll fuck ecosystems, have we not learned to stock natve fish?
They are sterile grass carp
I’d just replace the bearings in the spindle! Then it’s a 1/4 the cost of your aftermarket spindles.
Fabric? Use geocell
Have had our Grasshopper for 18 years. 1200 hours and no issues so far. Local dealer support has been an issue at times since the franchise has moved around my area. Kohler Command Pro engine. Heavy duty equipment.
My 1994 720 is still going strong. The only big thing I've had to replace in 30 years is a broken drive axle... I'm pretty rough on it.
